Episode 034: David McNeill on LA's Park to Playa Trail

McNeill discusses plans to complete LA's 13-mile Park to Playa Trail

There's a new trail in the works in Los Angeles. The Park to Playa Trail will be a 13-mile-long trail running from the city's Baldwin Hills neighborhood to the Pacific Ocean, connecting other parks and green spaces along its length.

On this episode, I speak with David McNeill, Executive Officer of the Baldwin Hills Conservancy about the Park to Playa Trail and its impacts on surrounding communities.

McNeill discusses the proposed goals for the Park to Playa Trail and how the trail will promote walking and cycling.

"Proximity has a lot to do with it and promoting it is the second big part," McNeill told me. "The goal is to reorient people towards their bicycles from their cars."

Listen to our conversation below to learn more about the Park to Playa Trail and how it's helping to reshape how Angelenos think about public green spaces.
